The Bradford Hotel was in the middle of Boston's combat zone. We stayed there when we made the Boston Tapes. Most nights after the session, when got back to the hotel, we heard gunshots, thus the name "Combat Zone". I was told that it has all changed and The Bradford Hotel has gone and The Combat Zone is now a clean, safe zone. What a shame, we rather liked it like that. It was all very seedy for Bostononians. They didn't want there city tarnished.
